Bing Lou

Senior Policy Advisor

Bing Lou is a Senior Policy Advisor with IISD’s Tracking Progress team, adjoined to the Beyond Lab at the United Nations Office at Geneva.

A senior government expert with more than decade of experience in public policy, international relations, and multilateral negotiations, Bingying’s work has stretched across international trade, sustainable food and agriculture systems, and media communications. Before joining IISD, she was First Secretary at New Zealand’s Permanent Mission to the WTO where she was lead negotiator on agriculture and goods trade at the WTO and OECD. Previous work experiences include multiple roles at New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries focusing on international trade policy and market access.

Driven by opportunities help people on solutions to our shared global challenges, her past volunteer experiences include Red Cross New Zealand, Sister Cities New Zealand, and Volunteer Service in Nepal. She speaks English, Mandarin, French, and is learning Hungarian.
